FAQ's

If you need more help, please contact Imagine Piano.

You do need a piano or a full size keyboard/electric piano to get started. Your electric piano or keyboard ideally will have weighted keys. If you are uncertain about whether your keyboard will be suitable, it is something we can discuss.

If you are familiar with using computers, you will find it easy to learn online. You will need a laptop or tablet for your lesson, a piano or keyboard, and a good internet connection. Your teacher will guide you through the set up process, and once you are set up, you’ll find it easily to jump online for a lesson.

Sometimes you will need to print lesson content, so a printer is also advisable, and you will sometimes want to watch video content.

Students have started learning online as young as 6 yrs old. In this situation, a parent is required to be present during the lesson, and will need to guide students through any online learning content, and practice. While lessons are designed to be engaging for all ages, students do need to be able to focus for a 20-30 minute face to face lesson over Zoom.

There is no limit to how old you can be to start learning piano online.

You can start lessons with Imagine Piano at any stage of your piano education. When you book your ‘meet and greet’ session, any previous learning will be discussed, and your teacher will assign you to the correct level to suit.

Katrina has taught children with learning difficulties, high functioning autism, ADHD, working with children with low muscle tone, and varying degrees of sensory processing difficulties over the last 20 years. Her “outside the box” approach to teaching piano suits many of these students. The best way to assess whether online piano lessons with Imagine Piano will suit your child is to book a ‘meet and greet’ session with Katrina.
